STEAMBOATERS (HORNBILL's CORNER)

Last nite I was invited for a steamboat dinner at the Hornbill's Corner, Kuching. Food is 'halal' so no worries for my muslims budds...On our way to Hornbill's Corner, weather was gruesome, it rained like cats and dogs (in another word heavily lah, hujan ribut). My windscreen was totally blurry due to the heavy downpour....fortunately we arrived there safely.

Picture above are some of the food that we had prepared...the priced is RM18.00 per/person and very reasonable indeed because you can eat as much as you can.....there are the meat section, seafood section, fishballs, crabstick, meatballs, various types of vegetables, they have carbo sections too like noodles & rice, for desserts they have local fresh fruits and also ice-cream....etc... As for the meat they have different marinated styles, you can choose from black paper to sweet and spicy. As for the beverages, they only served canned or bottled. The cheapest canned drink is soft drinks and they cost RM2.00 per/can.

Here are some of the steamboaters. The steamboaters gang consists of Iban, Malays, half Indian, Bidayuh, Lun Bawang, Arab and a half Melanau and half Chinese (that's me) . And that's what being a Sarawakian is all about....living in harmony no matter what your race is and where you come from cause we all share the same passion and that's good food and good company.

Here's a picture of Felicity, Siti.B & Razila....Felicity is from Bintulu, Siti's from Sarikei & Zila's from Miri. Tangga Siti.B ya, sampe melileh aik liur nya....barang makai ka gitok nyamai nyak...agik idup, agik ngelaban, agik ngcelak, agik bebatak....

Here's our chief chef of the nite...Kamariah. Mun embaknya makan steamboat sik rugi wai. Cause when it comes to food, she's a pro.
....and here's Kam's assistant, Dolly (the most soft spoken Iban lady that I've ever known)

To have a better look at the Iban lady of the year....here she is Hello Miss Dolly.

The chef taking a bite of her own recipe...Just look at the food....isn't it awesome. Good job Kam.

And here's to you too Nuga (the guy in Red Ts, he's from Sibu). Last nite we had 6 bottles of guinness only. Myself, Nuga, Ken, Felicity, Dolly & Fadly consumed the 'black juice'. No one had gone drunk last nite...only 6 bottles what!!!! If 16 bottles then maybe I won't be here right now blogging my blog.
